Our buttons are made of horn, bone, and rosewood. The horn and bone are recycled and re-claimed from other industries. Animals are not killed, solely for harvesting bone and horn. Rosewood is a dense, and durable hardwood known for its beautiful grain and dark red, black and purple variegation.

These buttons are hand-made mostly by women’s groups in Nepal. We provide alternative work settings to factories by allowing women and men to work independently in their spare time. This allows for more financial freedom and independence, without neglecting social obligations and responsibilities to their families.
