Recycled Silk Yarn and its products care

Its common for short, stray fibers to come off the strand. In some cases, yarn will have a characteristic odor. This can be addressed by:

* Airing the yarn out. For best results unwind the skeins air them out in the direct sunlight few hours.

* Spraying the yarn with Febreeze or Lysol –often available at regular department stores.

* Washing with a mild soap solution or fabric softener. Please do not machine wash. If your machine has a rinse feature, you may use it for rinsing.

Washing:

Fill a bucket with cold water and soap or fabric softener. Soak the yarn for several minutes. To prevent the skein from unraveling, hold onto the tie while twirling the yarn through the water. Squeeze to remove excess water several times.

Drying:

They may be hang-dried outside or in a well-ventilated area. Please do not machine dry, unless you have a drying rack specifically for your dryer. You may remove extra moisture by rolling in a towel or absorbent cloth.

Caring for scarves, bags, and hats:

While dry-cleaning is recommended for all hand-knitted products, they can also be hand-washed in a mild solution of soap and cold water.

Completely submerge, then gently turn and squeeze water out. Do not wring, as this may change the shape.

After washing, place on a drying rack or flat surface. We do not recommend hang-drying hand-knitted articles, as it may distort the shape.
